It’s Time for a New Perception on Life. Hypnosis Can Help.
“Hoell, hwo aer yuo dinog taydo?”
Did you understand what this message is saying? At first your mind may think it doesn’t make sense, and yet I’m sure you know exactly what the message is saying.
What about these messages, however?
“I’m not good enough.”
“No one likes me.”
These are also messages that logically may not make sense to your life right now. And yet, maybe they’re sticking in your mind, like glue.
If these thoughts are a frequent part of your mind, and you’re stuck in these negative thinking patterns, it’s time to try and change your perception on life. Hypnosis can help.
What is Perception?
Are you familiar with optical illusions? Like the example above, they play with our mind using images so that they’re perceived in a way that is different from what it is in actual reality. Our brain will process what it sees, then fill in the gaps using what it knows from past experiences.
The reality we have constructed in our minds is not the same as the person sitting next to us. Everyone has a distinctive perception of life. Some perceive life thrilling, inspiring, gratifying; on the flip side, others perceive life as bitter, ruthless, and demanding.
We all live in the same world. It’s when the negative outshines the positive where the need for a change of perception can truly make a difference to your life.
Examples of Negative Perception/Negative Thinking Patterns
Black and white thinking: “He’s either an angel from heaven, or a demon from hell.”
Mind reading: “I know she doesn’t like me. She thinks I’m not up to her values.”
Crystal-ball gazing: “What is the point in trying? I know I won’t pass the test.”
Over-generalization: “This relationship failed. I will never meet anyone.”
Disqualifying the positive: “Anyone can be a parent, but I’m sub par.”
Overreacting: “I haven’t heard from my friend, and I sent her a message 3 hours ago. He must hate me, just like everyone else.”
Unrealistic expectations: “I absolutely have to be top of the class, otherwise I’m not good enough.”
Name calling: “I’m a dumbass for saying such a thing. I can’t believe I opened my big mouth.”
Self-blame: “Oh, what did I do? Mom looks upset. I did something wrong. It’s all my fault.”
Catastrophizing: “I can’t pay my cell phone bill this month. My credit will nosedive, and I’ll lose my house.”
How Can Hypnosis Help with Perception?
Hypnotherapy sessions are able to help expand your perceptions of reality, allowing you to experience a little more “reality” of what really surrounds you. With hypnosis, we can challenge your negative thinking by offering your subconscious mind alternative positive viewpoints in exchange.
Hypnosis can help to change our negative mindset, using that subconscious to suggest more positive perceptions while in a relaxed/focused trance state. We always feel better when we’re relaxed, right?
Thinking of the answer to this question, in and of itself, is a perception. And for the majority, it’s a positive one. We think approximately 70, 000 thoughts a day. Wouldn’t you like those thoughts to be helping create a positive reality.
