How to Forgive and Move on With Help from Hypnotherapy
Forgiving someone is a powerful thing you can do for yourself. It’s not easy, though. Especially if you don’t know how.
Forgiveness does not always mean letting the person get away with hurting you. Rather, it’s giving yourself closure on the situation and letting yourself let go of the situation so it doesn’t become emotional baggage you carry around.
It can be difficult, but with a little help from hypnotherapy, you can have the tools you need to move on.
First, Find What is Holding You Back
Check in with how your body feels when you think of past incidents. Do you feel physically heavy, tight, agitated, constricted? Or do you feel a negative emotion of guilt, fear, shame, anger, regret, sadness, or grief?
Why Forgiveness and Moving On is So Powerful
Think of letting go of your past situations as a big mental cleanse to move forward with your life. Letting go involves personifying empathy and acknowledging the perspective of having our needs being met, still wanting approval, and wanting to cause hurt when we get hurt.
When someone hurts us, they may be acting out of confusion; their needs may not have been met. No, it does not excuse how they behaved toward you, but hopefully it does make forgiveness an option by putting in perspective a potential as to why they may have acted in such a manner. It is with this way of thinking that makes letting go of anger and moving on from the past a lot easier.
